Amphoe Sam Chuk ( Thai : อำเภอ สามชุก , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː sǎːm tɕʰúk ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Suphan Buri . The province of Suphan Buri is located in the western part of the central region of Thailand .

geography

The neighboring districts are clockwise from the north: Doem Bang Nang Buat district of Suphan Buri province, Sawaeng Ha district of Ang Thong province to the east, Si Prachan , Don Chedi and Nong Ya Sai districts of the province to the south and west Suphan Buri.

Sam Chuk's main water resource is the Mae Nam Tha Chin (Tha Chin River), also known as the Mae Nam Suphan (Suphan River).

history

The county name was originally Nang Buat. In 1911 the government separated part of Nang Buat to establish Amphoe Doem Bang Nang Buat . They also moved the county government to Ban Sam Pheng in Tambon Sam Chuk. In 1939 the county was renamed Sam Chuk after the central tambon .

Sam Chuk County is divided into seven tambon ("subdistricts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 68 muban ("villages").

There is one municipality with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Sam Chuk (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สามชุก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Sam Chuk and the parts of the Tambon Yan Yao, Krasiao.

In addition, there are six " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Yan Yao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ย่านยาว ) consisting of parts of the tambon Yan Yao.
  • Wang Luek (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วัง ลึก ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Luek.
  • Nong Phak Nak (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง ผัก นา ก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Phak Nak.
  • Ban Sa (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน สระ ) consisting of the complete tambon Ban Sa.
  • Nong Sadao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง สะเดา ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Sadao.
  • Krasiao (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล กระ เสียว ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Krasiao.
