Kyle Gass
Kyle Gass (born July 14, 1960 in Walnut Creek , California ) is an American musician and actor. Together with Jack Black he forms the comedic rock band Tenacious D , where he is often nicknamed KG and Kage . Gass plays the lead guitar in the band and sings in the background.
Live and act
Under the pseudonym Klip Calhoun he played and sang in the band Trainwreck , which was active from 2002 to 2011. He then formed the Kyle Gass Band , whose self-titled debut album was released in the United States in 2013. This album was reissued in Germany in 2015 on the Steamhammer label . Current members include Mike Bray, John Konesky , Jason Keene and Tim Spier. Former members are Nate Rothacker and Jamie Douglass. The successor Thundering Herd followed three years later , which was released on the Nuclear Blast label and with whom Gass and his band went on a European tour from September 2016.
As an actor, Gass appeared in the television series Seinfeld , Friends and 2 Broke Girls and played small roles in films such as Die Killerhand and Schwerliebbt . He had a cameo appearance as a singing karaoke cowboy in the 2007 feature film Born to be Wild . Gass sings a song by the Pussycat Dolls in the film . He also made a guest appearance in the 2009 video game Brütal Legend . Since 2011 Gass can be seen together with John Konesky in the web show Guitarings .
