American Campus - Ready for University? (Original title: Undeclared ) is an American television series that was broadcast on Fox from September 2001 to March 2002 .
The original title of the series Undeclared comes from the fact that two of the protagonists Steven Karp and Rachel Lindquist have not registered for a major subject and this has not been clarified. The series is a kind of follow-up series to Voll besides, fully in life ( freaks and geeks ), with Seth Rogen being the only one of the actors who is also part of the main cast in the new series.
Judd Apatow, the show's writer, told the Los Angeles Times in 2006 that college is the reward for surviving high school. ("The reward for surviving high school.") He also said that many people have great funny stories from college, while high school only has nightmare stories. ("Most people have great fun stories from college and nightmare stories from high school."). He also said it was difficult to be honest about college life on public broadcasters. Because in truth the students are high, drink and have sex and no matter how you portray it, you are falsifying the truth. He sees this as a reason for the college series to die out. ("One reason for the death of college shows is that it's difficult to be honest about campus life on network or basic cable. It's hard to portray truthfully. The truth is, kids are high, drunk and having sex. No matter what you do , you're fudging it. ")
action
The series focuses on a group of freshmen at the fictional University of North Eastern California . In contrast to the previous series Voll besides, Voll im Leben , this series takes place in the present and not in the 1980s. The series gave a humorous and precise insight into the ups and downs of normal college life, including love relationships.
Steven, who was always nobody in high school, has high hopes for his “new” life in college, he wants to be a cool student. Even if everything seems to be going well at first, his father's sudden appearance at a dormitory party put a damper on his hopes. Together with his roommates, the heartbreaker Lloyd, the musician Marshall, the brain Ron and the pretty girls from across the street, Lizzie and Rachel, he now faces the great challenge of college life.
