Kevin Hart (born July 6, 1979 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor and comedian . He started his career in 2000 when he won several comedy competitions.

Life

Hart and his older brother Robert were raised alone by their mother, Nancy, and his father, Henry, was absent for most of his childhood . After high school, he went to New York to get his community college degree, which he did two years later. He then went to Brockton, Massachusetts, and found work as a shoe seller.

He began his career as a stand-up comedian performing on an open stage at Laff House , a Philadelphia club, under the name Lil Kev . His career began hesitantly, as he often prematurely the stage to boos left. After these initially unsuccessful shows, Hart began trying competitions across Massachusetts and his success was not long in coming. Hart needed time to develop his own style. After early parodies of comedians like Chris Tucker , he found his own rhythm by immersing himself in his insecurities and life experiences. Hart claims to be inspired by role models from Philadelphia such as Bill Cosby , Chris Rock , Eddie Murphy and Dave Chappelle and that he strives to combine the best qualities of all these men in his own works. His tours began in 2009 with his program "I'm a Grown Little Man", followed by "Seriously Funny" in 2010, "Laugh At My Pain" in 2011 and in early 2012 his TV special entitled "Let Me Explain". With “Laugh At My Pain” he grossed around 15 million dollars. The tour was one of the most successful stand-up acts of the year. In addition, Hart has its own mobile app called "Little Jumpman", through which his Facebook page, Twitter account and YouTube channel are made accessible.

Since 2001, Kevin Hart has appeared in around 50 film and television productions. The Academy Awards 2019 , for which Hart was chosen as the presenter, should be the preliminary highlight of this career . But two days after the announcement, Hart resigned under public pressure. Older homophobic statements and jokes had surfaced, for which the comedian did not repeatedly apologize in public.

From May 2017, Hart was the advertising medium for the online poker platform PokerStars . He therefore played the Super High Roller of the PokerStars Championship (PSC) several times , but without making it into the money. At the end of May 2017, Hart played at the Super High Roller Bowl at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas , the most expensive poker tournament of the year with a buy-in of US $ 300,000 . After he previously u. a. Phil Hellmuth and Fedor Holz had taken out of the tournament, Hart was eliminated on the second day of the tournament. As part of the PSC in Monte-Carlo , he took part in the PokerStars Championship Cash Challenge , where he sat at the table with Daniel Negreanu , Liv Boeree , Charlie Carrel , Faraz Jaka and an online qualifier. Hart has been representing the partypoker online poker room since April 2020 .

His marriage to actress Torrei Hart in 2003 resulted in a daughter and a son. In February 2010 the two filed for divorce due to "irreconcilable differences", which became final in November 2011. Hart got engaged to Eniko Parrish in August 2014 . The couple married on August 13, 2016.

In the German version, it is currently mostly spoken by Leonhard Mahlich , before that it was Marcel Collé and Asad Schwarz .

Hart was involved in a car accident on Mulholland Drive near Los Angeles on September 1, 2019 , in which he was seriously injured.
