Faraz Jaka (born September 9, 1985 in San José , California ) is a professional American poker player . He was named Player of the Year on the World Poker Tour in 2009/10 .

Personal

Jaka played basketball and athletics in high school . He set time records over a mile (4:29 minutes) and half a mile (1:59 minutes). Jaka attended the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign , where he studied business administration . He lives in Chicago .

Poker career

Jaka started out playing every hand of a suit in hopes of hitting a flush . This reckless way of playing earned him the nickname "The Toilet". Jaka plays online under the nicknames The-Toilet 0 ( PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker ) and The_Toilet (UltimateBet) . He has online tournament earnings of more than 4 million US dollars have. At the end of September 2014 , Jaka finished fifth at the Main Event of the World Championship of Online Poker and received his highest online prize money to date of just under 420,000 US dollars. Since 2007 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

Jaka was in mid-June 2011 for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and died in a tournament variant No-Limit Hold'em the money. In February 2008, he won an event at the LA Poker Classic in Los Angeles for a prize of more than $ 100,000. In mid-November 2014 he won the high roller of the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic in Johannesburg with a prize of more than 100,000 US dollars. In mid-January 2015, Jaka finished seventh in the PCA High Roller for around $ 220,000. In March 2015, he came to the final table of the WPT Main Event in San José and received over $ 200,000 in prize money for his fifth place. At the 2017 WSOP , Jaka made two final tables for a total of over $ 270,000 in prize money. In mid-April 2018, he finished runner-up in the WPT main event of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown in Hollywood for more than $ 450,000 in prize money.

In total, Jaka has earned more than $ 6.5 million in poker in live tournaments. From April to November 2016 he played as team manager for San Francisco Rush in the Global Poker League and made it to the playoffs with his team.
