Mukul Pahuja (born 1985 or 1986 in New York City , New York ) is a professional American poker player . He was named Player of the Year on the World Poker Tour in 2013-14.

Personal

Pahuja was born in Queens and grew up on Long Island with three older siblings . Following the example of his brother Vineet “Vinny” Pahuja , he worked like him first in finance on Wall Street and later became a professional poker player. Pahuja lives in Coconut Creek .

Poker career

Pahuja has been participating in renowned live tournaments since 2008 .

Pahuja won his first tournament prize money at events in Atlantic City . At the local Circuit Event of the World Series of Poker , he finished fourth in December 2009 Main Event and then won a tournament variant No-Limit Hold'em , giving him a total of about 125,000 US dollars earned. At the beginning of June 2010 he was successful for the first time in the main tournament series of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in two tournaments. In August 2011, the American finished fourth in the main tournament of the Florida State Poker Championships in Pompano Beach, which was worth over 90,000 US dollars. He finished third at the main event of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open in late August 2013 in Hollywood , Florida , and received the highest cash prize of his career of more than $ 870,000.
