World Series of Poker 2019

The World Series of Poker 2019 was the 50th edition of the Poker World Championship and took place from May 28 to July 16, 2019 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas .

Tournaments

structure

A total of 90 poker tournaments in the variants Texas Hold'em , Omaha Hold'em , Seven Card Stud , Razz , 2-7 Triple Draw as well as the mixed variants HORSE and 8-Game were on the tournament schedule. Nine events were played online . The buy-in was 400 to 100,000 US dollars . For a tournament victory, the players received a bracelet in addition to the prize money . With Robert Campbell , a player won two bracelets ; Jiyoung Kim , Susan Faber and Tu Dao were the only women to be victorious.

For the anniversary of the series, the Big 50 was held, which promised a guaranteed prize pool of 5 million US dollars and a prize pool of at least one million US dollars with a free buy-in of 500 US dollars. With a field of 28,371 players, it was the largest live poker tournament to date.

From October 13 to November 4, 2019, 15 bracelets were played at the World Series of Poker Europe 2019 at King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic .

Player of the Year

The Player of the Year award goes to the player who collects the most points across all tournaments. Tournaments that are not accessible to all players are excluded from the rating, this concerned the tournaments of the Casino Employees , Seniors , Super Seniors and Ladies as well as the Tag Team Event and the Bracelet Winner's Only . The ranking also includes the tournaments of the World Series of Poker Europe . After the WSOPE, Daniel Negreanu , who had already won this title in 2004 and 2013 , was named the winner. A few days later, the organizers admitted a data error, without which Robert Campbell was named Player of the Year . He won two bracelets, reached a total of six final tables and made the money 13 times, securing prize money of around 750,000 US dollars .
