Giuseppe Dario Sammartino (born April 5, 1987 in Naples ) is a professional Italian poker player .

Poker career

Career

Sammartino plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname Secret_M0d3 . Since 2008 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

Sammartino was in July 2011 for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas successful and died in a tournament variant No-Limit Hold'em the money. At the main event of the World Series of Poker Europe , which was held in Cannes in October 2011 , he finished 17th for 37,000 in prize money. At the end of October 2013, Sammartino finished second in the main event of the Italian Poker Tour in Sanremo for 95,000 euros. In the WSOP 2014 he reached the final table of the Six Handed Championship and was awarded for his sixth place close to 100,000 US dollars . At the beginning of May 2015, Sammartino reached the final table of the European Poker Tour in Monte-Carlo at both the Super High Roller Event and the High Roller and also cashed in the Main Event for prize money of over one million euros. At the end of October 2019, Sammartino also reached the final table at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov and took fourth place, worth over 340,000 euros.

In total, Sammartino has earned more than 14.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments , making it the most successful Italian poker player . From April to November 2016 , Sammartino played as part of the Rome Emperors in the Global Poker League , but missed the playoffs with his team.
