The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure , PCA for short , is a series of poker tournaments hosted by PokerStars . It was played once a year in the Bahamas from 2004 to 2019 .

history

The tournaments are played from early to mid-January at the Atlantis Resort & Casino on Paradise Island . The PCA was part of the World Poker Tour from 2004 to 2007 and was played as part of the European Poker Tour from 2008 to 2016 . In January 2017, the tournaments were held under the name PokerStars Championship Bahamas . In January 2018, the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure returned as an independent tournament series under this name.

In January 2019 the PCA was first set up under PokerStars Players Championship played out that the biggest 25,000 US dollars expensive poker tournament was worldwide.

The high roller costs around $ 25,000. Two high rollers each were played in 2011 and 2012 , with the second of the two each having a buy-in of $ 10,200. Two high rollers were also played in 2016 and 2018 , with the first of the two each having a buy-in of US $ 50,000.
