Harrison Ian Gimbel (born October 3, 1990 in Boca Raton , Florida ) is a professional American poker player . He won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker , the Main Event of the World Poker Tour and the Main Event of the European Poker Tour , making him one of nine poker players who have completed the so-called Triple Crown .

Gimbel grew up in Jupiter , Florida , and graduated from high school .

Poker career

Gimbel started playing poker at the age of twelve in the wake of the moneymaker boom . He has been playing online since January 2007 under the nicknames gibler321 ( PokerStars ) and this is punny ( Full Tilt Poker ) with tournament winnings of more than 3 million US dollars . At the end of May 2017, he finished second behind Charlie Carrel at the Main Event of the Spring Championship of Online Poker for around 1.1 million US dollars. Gimbel has also been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2009 .

In early January 2010, Gimbel won the Main Event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas . For this he prevailed against 1,528 other players and received a prize of 2.2 million US dollars. In mid-November 2010, Gimbel won the Fall Poker Open Championship in Hollywood , Florida for a grand prize of $ 330,000. In June 2012 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in three tournaments in the No Limit Hold'em variant . In mid-March 2016, Gimbel secured victory at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Lincoln, California, with a prize of around 275,000 US dollars. At the 2017 WSOP , he won a No Limit Hold'em tournament , securing a bracelet and almost $ 650,000 in prize money. With his victory, Gimbel became the seventh player to win tournament titles in all three major tournament series WSOP, WPT and EPT. This feat is known as the Triple Crown and has now been achieved by nine poker players.

In total, Gimbel has earned almost $ 5 million in poker in live tournaments.
