Ronny Christopher Kaiser (* 1990 ) is a professional Swiss poker player . He was the only Swiss so far to win the main event of the European Poker Tour .

Personal

Kaiser comes from Bern and attended the free grammar school there . He is studying at the University of Bern .

Poker career

Kaiser plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname 1-ronnyr3 . Since 2008 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of August 2011 Kaiser won the main event of the European Poker Tour as the first and so far only Swiss . He prevailed against 281 other players in Tallinn and secured a prize of 275,000 euros . In July 2012 , he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and took 140th place in the main event, worth more than 50,000 US dollars . At the end of August 2017, Kaiser won the high roller event of the PokerStars Championship in Barcelona and received a prize of 735,000 euros due to a deal with Markus Dürnegger and Benjamin Pollak .

Overall, Kaiser has earned at least $ 2 million from poker in live tournaments. In addition, Kaiser played several times on the German poker show German High Roller , which is broadcast on Sport1 .
