Markus Dürnegger is a professional Austrian poker player .

Poker career

Dürnegger has been taking part in renowned live tournaments since 2013.

At the beginning of December 2014, Dürnegger took second place at the Concord Million Main Event in Vienna for prize money of 140,000 euros . In May 2016 he made the money for the first time at the main event of the European Poker Tour and was 45th in Monte-Carlo for just under 17,000 euros. At the end of August 2017, Dürnegger reached the final table at the high roller event of the PokerStars Championship in Barcelona . With three players remaining, he made a deal with his colleagues Ronny Kaiser and Benjamin Pollak that brought Dürnegger, who ultimately took second place, prize money of around 730,000 euros. In November 2017 he was third in the High Roller of the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam for just under 100,000 euros. In mid-March 2018, Dürnegger secured a place at the Super High Roller Bowl , which was played at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas at the end of May 2018 . The US $ 300,000 buy-in tournament was limited to 48 players . Dürnegger was eliminated on the second day of the tournament and was therefore unable to place in the money ranks. In mid-January 2019, he finished fifth in the high roller of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas , which was paid for around $ 265,000. In June 2019 Dürnegger was successful for the first time in the main tournament series of the World Series of Poker in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in two tournaments of the No Limit Hold'em variant .

Overall, Dürnegger has earned at least almost two million dollars with poker in live tournaments.
