Benjamin Bernard Pollak (born April 23, 1983 in Paris ) is a professional French poker player .

Poker career

Career

Pollak lives in London . He has been playing online under the nickname MagicDeal since 2007 and has total tournament income of around 330,000 US dollars on the PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker platforms . Since 2007 Pollak has also taken part in renowned live tournaments.

In June 2010 Pollak won the main event of the Trophées Haussmann in Paris with a prize of around 100,000 euros . In July 2010 he was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and cashed in a tournament of the No Limit Hold'em variant . At the beginning of December 2011 Pollak reached the final table at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in Prague and received 104,000 euros for his fourth place. In April 2013 he was again at the final table of a WPT main event and finished second in Barcelona for 126,000 euros. At the 2013 WSOP he reached the seventh day of the tournament in the main event and was eliminated there in 27th place for almost $ 300,000 in prize money. At the end of August 2014, Pollak finished fifth in the High Roller of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona for 219,000 euros. At the beginning of February 2015, he reached the final table at the EPT Main Event in Deauville and finished fourth for just under 200,000 euros. At the 2017 WSOP , Pollak reached the final table of the main event , which began on July 20, 2017. He started third in chips and finished third behind Scott Blumstein and Daniel Ott for $ 3.5 million in prize money. At the PokerStars Championship in Barcelona Pollak took third place in the high roller at the end of August 2017 and received prize money of almost 700,000 euros due to a deal with Ronny Kaiser and Markus Dürnegger . At the beginning of November 2017, Pollak finished second behind Niall Farrell in the High Roller of the World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov for around 460,000 euros. In February 2018 Pollak won the sixth event of the US Poker Open at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas with a bonus of 416,500 dollars and finished fifth in the race for the US Poker Open Championship trophy with a total of three cashes in the series . At the 2018 WSOP , he reached the sixth day of the tournament in the main event and finished in 42nd place for around $ 190,000 in prize money. At the end of August 2018, Pollak finished fifth at the EPT Super High Roller in Barcelona and received almost 450,000 euros. A few days later he won a 50,000 euro high roller event on the same spot and secured a prize of 979,000 euros. At the end of October 2018, as in the previous year, Pollak reached the final table of the High Roller of the World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov and finished the tournament in third place for around 370,000 euros. In early May 2019, he won the EPT High Roller in Monte-Carlo and received more than 700,000 euros due to a deal with Koray Aldemir .

In total, Pollak has earned almost $ 13 million in poker in live tournaments , making him the second most successful French poker player after Bertrand Grospellier .
