Talal Dan Shakerchi (born February 21, 1964 in the Midlands ) is a British investment manager and poker player from England .

Personal

1998 Shakerchi founded the company Meditor Capital Management Limited , whose chief executive officer he is. In addition, he was chairman of Streamvale Management Company Limited (1999-2004) and Intelligent Energy Holdings Public Limited Company (2005-2008). Shakerchis fortune is estimated at about 150 million US dollars estimated. He lives in London .

Poker career

Shakerchi plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname raidalot . In May 2016 he won the Main Event of the Spring Championship of Online Poker there with a prize money of almost 1.5 million US dollars . In total, he earned almost five million dollars with online tournament poker on PokerStars . Since 2007 Shakerchi has also been taking part in renowned live tournaments . He almost exclusively plays high roller events, i.e. tournaments with buy-ins of at least $ 10,000.

In mid-May 2008 he reached the final table at the Rendez Vous A Paris and finished the tournament in third place for almost 160,000 euros in prize money. At the end of June 2008 Shakerchi was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and came in the money in a tournament in the No Limit Hold'em variant . In September 2008 he won first in London discharged World Series of Poker Europe in the main event of the 13th for the equivalent of around 80,000 dollars in prize money. In early May 2012 Shakerchi won the Turbo High Roller as part of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Monte-Carlo with a prize of 223,000 euros. In mid-December 2016, he reached the final table at the high roller event of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, finishing in third place for more than $ 500,000. In July 2017, Shakerchi won the Aria High Roller twice at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas and secured prize money of almost $ 800,000. In the same place, he finished fourth at the Super High Roller Bowl in mid-December 2018 and received his highest prize money to date of more than $ 1.1 million. In January 2019, Shakerchi reached the final table of the PokerStars Players Championship as part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas and finished eighth, worth $ 509,000. After his departure, he played the super high roller of the series, also reached the final table there and finished fifth for around $ 485,000.

Overall, Shakerchi has earned more than $ 7.5 million playing poker in live tournaments.
