Marc-André Ladouceur (born February 7, 1983 in Montreal , Québec ) is a professional Canadian poker player .

Personal

Ladouceur was born in Montreal to Michel Ladouceur and Charlotte Trottier . He attended the Collège Saint-Hilaire and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in finance . As a tennis player , he won the regional championship and three times the Québec Championships in doubles and reached a 27th place in the Canadian championship. He also played hockey , baseball and basketball . Ladouceur worked as a bartender and earned money with various sports scholarships. He also owns a nightclub in North Carolina . Ladouceur lives in Montreal.

Poker career

Ladouceur has been playing online under the nicknames pocketpayett ( PokerStars and 888poker ) , pocketpayette ( Full Tilt Poker and TitanPoker) and sickspirit ( partypoker ) since January 2007 and has won tournament prize money of more than one million US dollars . As FrenchDawg , he was part of Team PokerStars until November 2016 . Since October 2007 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

Ladouceur was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in early June 2009 and cashed in a tournament in the No Limit Hold'em variant . In mid-March 2011 he finished 30th at the main event of the European Poker Tour in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and received prize money of 7,500 euros . At the 2011 WSOP , he reached the sixth day of the main event and finished the event in 63rd place for more than $ 130,000. A year later he had another good run at the WSOP main event and was eliminated in 13th place shortly before the final table . For this he received his largest prize money to date of over $ 450,000. At the beginning of October 2012 Ladouceur won the EPT high roller tournament in Sanremo with a prize money of 132,400 euros. At the end of August 2014 he reached the final table at the EPT High Roller in Barcelona and finished the tournament in sixth place for 168,600 euros in prize money. In mid-January 2019, Ladouceur finished eighth at the main event of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas and received almost $ 150,000.

In total, Ladouceur has made more than two million dollars playing poker in live tournaments. From April to December 2016 he played as manager of the Montreal Nationals in the Global Poker League and won the title with his team.
