Dario "Supernova" Minieri (born February 10, 1985 in Rome ) is a professional Italian poker player .
Career
As a 16-year-old Minieri mainly played the trading card game Magic: The Gathering and started playing poker in 2002 at the age of 18.
At the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Monte-Carlo , Minieri came in early March 2006 as 22nd in the prizes for 16,800 euros . The Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas , he completed in early August 2006 also from the money. In October 2006, Minieri was third in the EPT tournament in Baden , for which he received around 125,000 euros. In the 2007 World Series of Poker , he was twice the money. In the main event he was the chip leader for a long time , but gambled away his stack quite carelessly and ended up 96th for just under 70,000 US dollars . At the EPT in Sanremo 2008, the tournament with the third largest field of participants in the series, Minieri came to the final table as the chip leader and came in third for just under 300,000 euros. At the 2008 WSOP he won a tournament variant No-Limit Hold'em , which with 528,418 US dollars and a bracelet was doped. In mid-November 2008, Minieri again took third place at the EPT Main Event and received prize money of more than 120,000 euros in Warsaw . A year later he won the EPT High Roller at the same place with a prize of almost 80,000 euros. Then there were no major successes in Minieri's poker career. His last live cash placement to date was in July 2016.
To date, he's made just under $ 2 million from live poker tournaments.
