Dzmitry Urbanovich ( Polish Dzmitry Urbanowicz ; born May 18, 1995 in Hrodna ) is a professional Polish - Belarusian poker player .

Personal

Urbanovich was born the son of a Pole in Hrodna , Belarus , but moved with his family to Białystok, Poland, when he was a child .

Poker career

Urbanovich made already the age of seven first experience with poker and pursued in 2003 the victory Chris Moneymaker at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker . Urbanovich plays online on PokerStars under the nickname Colisea . At the World Championship of Online Poker , he won one title each in September 2014 and 2016 , followed by two more in September 2018 . Urbanovich is sponsored by partypoker and plays there as Dzmitry_Urbanov . Overall, its online poker tournament earnings are nearly 3 million US dollars . Since 2013 Urbanovich has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

Urbanovich cashed in for the first time in the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in mid-April 2014 and finished 74th in Sanremo, Italy, for around 8,500 euros in prize money. In March 2015, he made the money at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour in Vienna and received more than 6,000 euros for it. A few days later, Urbanovich won the high roller event at the EPT in Malta and received a prize of over 570,000 euros. With three more wins in the following nine days in Malta, he set a new EPT record and secured winnings of more than 150,000 euros. Around a month later, in early May 2015, Urbanovich won his highest prize money to date when he reached the final table at the EPT Super High Roller Tournament in Monte-Carlo and the event came in second behind Erik Seidel for just under 1.5 Million euros ended. He also finished second in the Super High Roller at the EPT in Barcelona in August 2015 , for which he received 841,500 euros. He cashed twice at the World Series of Poker Europe , which was held in Berlin in October 2015 . In mid-February 2016, Urbanovich won the EPT Main Event in Dublin and received a prize of 561,900 euros. In June 2016 he played for the first time in the main tournament series of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas , in which he was previously not allowed to participate due to his too young age. At the end of June 2018 , Urbanovich reached his first WSOP final table and finished second in a Razz variant for almost $ 80,000 in prize money. In October 2019, he finished third in the Mixed Games Championship of the World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort in Rozvadov and received over 160,000 euros.

Overall, Urbanovich has earned more than 6 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments, making him the most successful Polish poker player . From April to November 2016 he played as part of the Moscow Wolverines in the Global Poker League and made it to the playoffs with his team.
