Victoria "Vicky" Elizabeth Coren Mitchell (born August 18, 1972 in London ) is a British author , presenter and professional poker player from England . She won the European Poker Tour Main Event twice .

biography

Because both her brother Giles Coren and her father Alan Coren are journalists, Vicky Coren was given the opportunity at the age of 13 to write a column in the Daily Telegraph describing her life as a teenager. This later resulted in the book Love 16 , which was published in 1989. She is the presenter of the BBC TV series Balderdash and Piffle , the quiz show Only Connect and the BBC 4 radio program Off the Page . She also regularly writes columns for the British newspapers The Observer and The Guardian . Her book Once More With Feeling , which she wrote with the author Charlie Skelton , is about the authors' attempt to plan and direct a pornographic film. Coren holds a degree in English from the University of Oxford .

Coren has been married to actor David Mitchell since November 2012 .

Coren became known as poker player when she in in September 2006, London was the first woman, the Main Event of the European Poker Tour was (EPT) decide for themselves and a prize of 500,000 pounds sterling won. On April 20, 2014, she won the EPT Main Event in Sanremo, Italy , becoming the first person in EPT history to win two main events. Overall, Coren Mitchell has earned around 2.5 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments, making him one of the most successful women in terms of tournament prize money .
