Jake Cody (born July 4, 1988 in Rochdale ) is a professional British poker player from England . He won the World Series of Poker , the Main Event of the World Poker Tour and the Main Event of the European Poker Tour , making him one of nine poker players who have completed the so-called Triple Crown .

Personal

Cody comes from Rochdale in the north of England and has been the father of a daughter since March 2014. He lives in Leeds .

Poker career

Cody learned poker playing with friends. He plays online under the nicknames Y0UR F4CE ( PokerStars ) and neverbluff67 ( Full Tilt Poker ) . As a jakecody , he was also part of Team PokerStars until March 2019 . Since 2009, Cody can be seen regularly at renowned live tournaments .

Cody secured his first major and to date highest prize money in January 2010 when he won the main event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Deauville, France, for 857,000 euros . At the end of August 2010 he won the Main Event of the World Poker Tour (WPT) in London and received the equivalent of more than 400,000 US dollars in prize money. In June 2011 he won the Heads-Up Championship of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas . He won a bracelet and over $ 850,000 in prize money. At the age of 22, Cody was the youngest player to win titles at the EPT, WPT and WSOP and still holds that record today. This feat is known as the Triple Crown and has now been achieved by nine poker players. At the end of the year he was named Global Poker Index Player of the Year 2010 . At the World Series of Poker Europe taking place in Cannes in October 2011 , Cody finished seventh in the main event and collected 150,000 euros. At the EPT Main Event, Cody reached the final table again in Monte Carlo in early May 2013 and finished the tournament in fifth place for prize money of 251,000 euros. He also finished fifth at the EPT Main Event in London in mid-October 2014, earning him an additional £ 133,800 . Cody caused a stir at the end of February 2018 when, after winning the High Roller at the UK Poker Championships in Nottingham, he put the entire prize of £ 42,670 on a roulette table on black, thereby doubling his winnings.

Overall, Cody has earned over $ 4.5 million in live poker tournaments. From April to November 2016 he played as part of the Las Vegas Moneymakers in the Global Poker League , but missed the playoffs with his team.
