Wyatt Allen

Wyatt Allen (* 11. January 1979 in Baltimore ) is a former American rower and Olympic champion in eight of 2004.

The 1.93 m tall Wyatt Allen was second with the US eighth at the U23 World Regatta in 2001. After two rather unsuccessful years in quadruples, Allen moved up to the US eighth for the 2004 Olympic Games. At the 2004 Olympic regatta, the US eight won the gold medal, the first gold medal for the US eight since 1964 .

In 2005, Allen started in one , at the 2005 World Rowing Championships he finished 14th. In 2006 he returned to the double fours and finished eighth in this boat class at the World Championships in Eton . In 2007 Wyatt Allen rowed back in the US eighth and finished fourth at the World Championships . After Allen had only reached a final at world championships once in his career, he won his second Olympic medal in his second Olympic participation in Beijing in 2008 with a bronze medal in eighth place.
