Rüdiger Henning

Rüdiger Henning (born November 5, 1943 in Berlin ) is a former German rower . In 1968 he became Olympic champion in eighth place .

The rower from the Rowing Union Arkona Berlin won the silver medal in the four-man team with a helmsman behind the boat from the Soviet Union at the European rowing championships in Duisburg in 1965 . The German four started with Rüdiger Henning, Ulrich Luhn , Peter Hertel , Peter Kuhn and helmsman Uwe Trompler .

In 1966, everyone except the helmsman switched to the Germany eight, trained by Karl Adam . At the World Championships in Bled, the eighth competed in this line-up: Horst Meyer , Dirk Schreyer , Michael Schwan , Ulrich Luhn, Peter Hertel, Rüdiger Henning, Lutz Ulbricht , Peter Kuhn and helmsman Peter Niehusen .
