Niko Ott (born July 9, 1945 in Konstanz ) is a former German rower.

In 1967 Niko Ott was German champion in two with a helmsman together with Peter Berger . At the pre-Olympic regatta in Mexico City, he was in the victorious four-man with helmsman and eight.

At the 1968 Olympic Games he competed in a four-man team with a helmsman together with Peter Berger, Udo Brecht, Hans-Johann Färber and helmsman Stefan Armbruster. Fifth in the first semifinal, the team could not qualify for the final. They did not take part in the small final because two rowers were ill.

The Germany eight , supervised by Karl Adam , however, had sovereignly qualified for the final. But there was also a failure here because Roland Boese was ill and could not compete in the final. For him Niko Ott was placed in eighth and with the substitute the eighth won gold in front of the teams from Australia and the Soviet Union. Niko Ott gave his gold medal to Roland Boese after the award ceremony. The German NOK then tried to gain recognition with the support of the IOC . A medal was minted for Niko Ott, which was ceremoniously presented to him in Frankfurt.

He also received the silver bay leaf on November 27, 1968 .
