John Wallace (rower)

John William Wallace (born April 1, 1962 in Burlington , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian rower .

Wallace didn't begin rowing until 1983 in Hamilton . In 1985 he took part in the World Championships for the first time and finished tenth with the Canadian eighth . In the following year he entered the world championships in four-man with helmsman and reached seventh place. After finishing fifth in eighth at the 1987 World Championships and sixth in eighth at the 1988 Olympic Games, Wallace paused in 1989.

At the 1990 World Championships , the Germany eight won ahead of the Canadian eight with Darren Barber , Andy Crosby , Robert Marland , Derek Porter , Michael Rascher , Bruce Robertson , Brian Saunderson , John Wallace and Terry Paul . The 1.92 m tall Wallace was married to the rower Silken Laumann , but the marriage has now divorced.
