Edwin Salisbury

Edwin "Ed" Lyle Salisbury (born May 3, 1910 in Walnut Grove , California , † November 22, 1986 in Sacramento ) was an American rower .

Edwin Salisbury, who is 1.87 m tall, studied at Sacramento Junior College and the University of California, Berkeley . In 1932, the eighth of the Golden Bears , the sports team at the University of Berkeley, won the championships of the Intercollegiate Rowing Association and also qualified for the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . Salisbury was the batsman of the boat that won in the run-up to the Olympic regatta by four seconds ahead of the boat from Canada. In the final, the Italian eighth, who was two tenths of a second behind the Californian boat at the finish, led the Canadians bronze.

After graduating, Salisbury went into the packaging industry and later manager of a fruit packaging company.
