Edward Glenister "Ed" Stevens, Jr. (born September 15, 1932 in St. Louis , Missouri , United States , † June 9, 2013 in Tucson , Arizona , United States) was an American rower and Olympic champion .

Life

Edward Stevens won the gold medal in rowing ( eighth ) with the US team as a 20-year-old at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . After graduating, he was a naval officer and holds a degree in nuclear engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . He died in 2013 at the age of 80.
