Thomas Jackson "Tom" Charlton Jr. (born July 12, 1934 in Savannah , Georgia) is a former American Olympic athlete in rowing and athlete of the Yale Bulldogs from New Haven , Connecticut. As a member of the Yale rowing eight (eight men with undergraduate students) at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, he won the Olympic gold medal for the United States.
