Emory Wendell Clark II (born March 23, 1938 in Detroit ) is a former American rower .

Emory Clark, who is 1.93 m tall, graduated from Yale University in 1960 and then served in the United States Marine Corps . After completing his studies, he joined the Vesper Boat Club in Philadelphia as a rower . At the 1964 Olympic Games , the Vesper Boat Club was the first club since 1904 to place the US eighth and not a university. The US eight was an outsider against the favored Germany eight . The two boats met in the first run and the Germany eight won with a lead of 0.28 seconds. In the final, the US boat won by over five seconds.

Clark later studied law and received his PhD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1971 . He then worked as a lawyer in Michigan. Until 2005 he rowed successfully in different age groups
