IC 3519 is an elliptical dwarf galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type De4 in the constellation Coma Berenices the northern sky . It is estimated to be 14 million light years from the Milky Way , about 2,000 light years across. The galaxy is listed under catalog number VCC 1577 as part of the Virgo galaxy cluster .
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4540 , IC 800 , IC 3505 , IC 3528 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 7, 1904 .
