IC 3520 is a spiral dwarf galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type Scd in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 34 million light years away from the Milky Way , has a diameter of around 10,000 ly, and is listed under catalog number VCC 1569 as part of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4531 , IC 3500 , IC 3501 , IC 3523 .
The object was discovered by Royal Harwood Frost on May 10, 1904 .
