James Hardy (rower)

James Herbert "Jim" Hardy (born January 15, 1923 in San Francisco , † September 20, 1986 in Princeville ) was an American rower .

As a member of the American team, he won a gold medal in eight rowing at the 1948 Summer Olympics .

He studied at the California Institute of Technology and worked as a road construction engineer after his sports career . During the Second World War he was active in the military medical service of the US Army and retired in 1946 with the rank of Second Lieutenant .
