Eckhardt Schultz

Eckhardt Schultz (born December 12, 1964 in Wolfsburg ) is a former German rower . He was Olympic champion in eighth place in 1988 .

Schultz started for the Rauxel rowing club . In 1982 he was the eighth junior world champion . In 1986 and 1987 he won the German championship title in eighth and finished sixth in the world championship with eighth. In 1988 he won the German championship titles in the four-man without a helmsman and in the eight, whereby the four -man consisting of eight-rowers beat the Ruhr four-man who had become world champion in 1983 and 1985. When coach Ralf Holtmeyer re-formed the Germany eight for the Olympic Games in Seoul, the 1.99 meter tall Schultz stayed in the boat.
