Career

In 2004 he switched to the double scull with Matthew Wells and reached third place at the World Cup in Poznan, at the 2004 Olympic Games the two did not make it to the A final and ended up in eighth place. In 2005 both were back in the double fours, after three A-finals in the World Cup, the boat took seventh place at the World Championships.
In 2006, Langridge switched from sculling to oar rowing and rowed in the British eighth , which came fifth at the World Championships. In 2007 Langridge and Colin Smith formed a two-man without a helmsman , the boat won the World Cup regatta in Linz. At the second World Cup regatta in Amsterdam, the two won with eighth, in Lucerne they took eleventh place with two. At the World Championships in Munich, Smith and Langridge won the bronze medal behind the boats from Australia and New Zealand. In 2008 the two Britons switched back to eighth, who reached the podium three times in the World Cup with first, second and third place each; at the Olympic Games in Beijing, the British eighth won the silver medal behind the Canadian boat.
In 2009 Langridge switched to the four without a helmsman , who won two World Cup regattas and the final at the World Championships with three rowers from the 2008 eight. In 2010 the crew won two World Cup regattas and took third place in the third regatta, but the boat only came fourth in the World Championships. In 2011 the four-man again achieved two World Cup victories and won the world championship title in Bled. For the 2012 London Olympics, Langridge returned to the British eighth, with which he won the bronze medal. After a less than successful season in double sculls in 2013, Langridge formed a two-man without helmsman with James Foad in 2014 . The two received the silver medal at the 2014 World Championships and won the title at the 2015 European Championships. At the 2015 World Championships, as in the previous year, the two won silver behind the two New Zealanders. At the start of the 2016 season, Langridge finished third behind the Germans and Russians with the British eighth at the European Championships in Brandenburg an der Havel. In the final of the 2016 Olympic Games , as in the three world championships since 2013, the British managed to win ahead of Germany eighth.
