Matteo Lodo

Matteo Lodo (born October 25, 1994 in Terracina ) is an Italian rower .

Matteo Lodo started rowing in 2008. At the Junior World Championships in 2011 and 2012 , he won the title with the Italian eighth . In 2013 Lodo first took part in the world championships in the adult class, together with Paolo Perino , Mario Paonessa and Giuseppe Vicino he finished fourth in the four-man category . Lodo and Vicino won the two without a helmsman at the U23 World Championships in 2014. At the World Championships in 2014 in the adult class, Vincenzo Abbagnale achieved, Mario Paonessa, Matteo Lodo and Giuseppe Vicino finished seventh in the foursome.

In 2015 the Italian rowed with Marco Di Costanzo , Matteo Castaldo , Matteo Lodo and Giuseppe Vicino. At the World Cup in Varese, the Italians finished second behind the US foursome, in Lucerne the Australians won ahead of the Italians. At the 2015 World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette, the Italians won ahead of the Australians and the British. The following year, Domenico Montrone , Castaldo, Lodo and Vicino rowed in the Italian four-man, in this line-up they won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games behind the British and Australians. At the European Championships 2017, the Italians Matteo Lodo and Giuseppe Vicino won in two without a helmsman, ahead of the French Valentin Onfroy and Théophile Onfroy ; at the end of the season, the duo also won the world championship title in Florida with a strong final sprint ahead of the Croatian duo Martin and Valent Sinković .

At the European Championships in 2018 , Lodo rowed with Domenico Montrone in two and finished fifth. Lodo also came in eighth and finished fourth in this boat class. A month and a half later he started in a four-man without a helmsman at the World Championships in Plovdiv . Matteo Castaldo, Bruno Rosetti , Matteo Lodi and Marco Di Costanzo won silver behind the Australians.
