Norbert Keßlau

Norbert Keßlau (born July 13, 1962 in Dortmund ) is a former German rower . Keßlau belonged to the Ruhr-Vierer , one of the world's best boats in the four-man boat class in the 1980s .

The rower from the rowing club Hansa from 1898 in Dortmund began rowing in 1978, he already rowed in the same boat as a youth with his club mate Jörg Puttlitz . In 1982 Keßlau was a substitute rower at the World Rowing Championships. In 1983 Puttlitz and Keßlau joined the Witten brothers Guido and Volker Grabow . The newly composed four-man from the Ruhr not only won the title at the German Championships, but also won the World Rowing Championships in Duisburg. The four rowers defended the German championship title from 1984 to 1986. At the 1984 Olympic Games , the four-man finished fourth, one and a half seconds behind the Danish bronze medalists.
