Marco Di Costanzo
Marco Di Costanzo (born June 9, 1992 in Naples ) is an Italian rower .
Marco Di Costanzo started rowing in 2002. In 2009 he won the bronze medal with the Italian eighth at the 2009 Junior World Championships . At the Junior World Championships in 2010 he also won the bronze medal with the eighth. At the 2010 Youth Olympic Games , he took tenth place in a pair without a helmsman . In 2011 he rowed a silver medal with the Italian four-man without a helmsman at the U23 World Championships , in 2012 he finished eighth with the four-man with a helmsman . At the European Championships in 2012 Marco Di Costanzo made his debut with a ninth place in the four without a helmsman in the adult class. In 2013 he formed a two-man without a helmsman with Matteo Castaldo , after finishing fourth at the European Championships in 2013 , the two achieved second place at the World Cup in Lucerne and sixth place at the World Championships . The following year followed a fifth place at the European championships and a seventh place at the world championships . Between these two championships he competed with the four-man without a helmsman at the U23 World Championships in front of a home crowd in Varese and won the title.
In 2015, a new Italian four-man without a helmsman was created with Marco Di Costanzo, Matteo Castaldo, Matteo Lodo and Giuseppe Vicino . At the World Cup in Varese, the Italians finished second behind the US foursome, in Lucerne the Australians won ahead of the Italians. At the 2015 World Championships on Lac d'Aiguebelette , the Italians won the title ahead of the Australians and the British. In 2016 Giovanni Abagnale and Marco Di Costanzo competed in two without a helmsman and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games . At the European Championships 2017 , the Italian four-man without a helmsman won with Di Costanzo, Abagnale, Castaldo and Domenico Montrone , and at the end of the season the quartet won silver at the World Championships in Florida behind Australia.
At the European Championships in 2018 , the Italian four-man with Vincenzo Abbagnale , Giovanni Abagnale, Marco Di Costanzo and Matteo Castaldo took fourth place. A month and a half later, the boat started at the World Championships in Plovdiv with Matteo Castaldo, Bruno Rosetti , Matteo Lodo and Marco Di Costanzo. As in the previous year, the Italian four-man won silver behind the Australians. At the European Championships in 2019 he finished fifth with the Italian four-man without a helmsman with Cesare Gabbia, Bruno Rosetti and Matteo Castaldo. After a reshuffle, the boat started with Marco Di Costanzo, Giovanni Abagnale, Bruno Rosetti and Matteo Castaldo at the 2019 World Championships , where they finished fourth.
