Jack Hargreaves

Jack Hargreaves (born July 24, 1993 ) is an Australian rower .

Athletic career

Jack Hargreaves started rowing in 2007. In 2013 he made his debut in the Rowing World Cup when he finished third at the World Cup opener in Sydney with the Australian eighth . At the U23 World Championships , he finished tenth with the Australian eighth in 2013. In 2014 he rowed with Nicholas Wheatley in twos without a helmsman and won the silver medal at the U23 World Championships behind the Italians. In 2015 they also finished second, this time behind the Romanians. At the 2015 World Championships in the adult class, Wheatley and Hargreaves took sixth place.

In the post-Olympic season 2017, Hargreaves rowed successfully in the Rowing World Cup with the four-man without a helmsman and with the eighth. At the World Championships in Florida, the Australian four-man competed with Joshua Hicks , Spencer Turrin , Jack Hargreaves and Alexander Hill and won the World Cup gold medal. In 2018, the Australian four-man won the same line-up as in the previous year at the World Cup regattas in Linz and Lucerne and also at the World Championships in Plovdiv .
