The Salt Cay Airport ( ICAO code : MBSY , IATA code : SLX ) is a national airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands . It is located on Salt Cay , the second largest island in the Turks Islands , and is operated by the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA).
The airport has a 771-meter-long runway made of compacted sand. It is served several times a week on scheduled flights from Providenciales and Grand Turk Island by InterCaribbean Airways and Caicos Express Airways , mainly with twin-engine propeller aircraft such as the Cessna 402 or Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander .
There is a small café in the terminal, the opening times of which depend on the flight schedule.
