The North Caicos Airport , including North Caicos International ( ICAO code : MBNC , IATA code : NCA ), on the island of North Caicos is a national airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands . It is operated by the Turks & Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA).

The airport is currently (as of October 2017) not operated in scheduled flight operations. It has a 1,278-meter-long asphalt runway.

Incidents

  • On the evening of 6 February 2007, a crashed Beechcraft 200C Super King Air of Air Turks and Caicos immediately after the start about two kilometers east of the airport in the shallow waters of the lagoon. The pilot was fatally injured in the accident; four of the five passengers suffered serious injuries and one passenger suffered minor injuries. The cause of the crash was probably a flight error by the pilot due to an impairment of his spatial orientation due to darkness and possibly also alcohol consumption .
