Joshua Hicks

Joshua Hicks (born April 29, 1991 ) is an Australian rower .

Athletic career

Joshua Hicks started rowing in 2004. At the Junior World Championships in 2009 he won the silver medal with the Australian four-man with helmsman . In 2012 he also won silver with the four without a helmsman , this time at the U23 World Championships . In 2014, he finished seventh with the Australian eighth at the World Championships in the adult class. For the 2016 Olympic Games, he could not qualify with the Australian eighth as fourth in the qualifying regatta 2016 in Lucerne.

In the post-Olympic season 2017, Hargreaves rowed successfully in the Rowing World Cup with the four-man without a helmsman and with the eighth . At the World Championships in Florida, the Australian four-man competed with Joshua Hicks, Spencer Turrin , Jack Hargreaves and Alexander Hill and won the World Cup gold medal. In 2018, the Australian four-man won the same line-up as in the previous year at the World Cup regattas in Linz and Lucerne and also at the World Championships in Plovdiv . In 2019 Hicks competed at the World Championships in Linz together with Sam Hardy in a two-man without a helmsman and won the bronze medal behind the Croatians and the New Zealanders.
