James Dallinger

James William Dallinger (born September 30, 1985 in Cambridge ) is a former New Zealand rower .

Dallinger began rowing in 2000. In 2002 he finished ninth with the New Zealand eighth at the Junior World Championships , in 2003 he reached sixth place. In 2004 he took eighth place at the U23 World Championships and finished eighth. In 2006 he won with the four-man with helmsman in the line-up of James Dallinger, Steven Cottle , Paul Gerritsen , Dane Boswell and helmsman Daniel Quigley at the U23 World Championships. The crew started with the same line-up at the World Championships in Eton . In 2007 Dallinger switched to the four without a helmsman . Carl Meyer , James Dallinger, Eric Murray and Hamish Bond won the World Cup in Amsterdam and took third place in Lucerne. The four New Zealanders won the title at the 2007 World Rowing Championships in Munich. In the Olympic season the four reached the A-final twice in the World Cup, but only finished sixth in Lucerne and fifth in Poznan. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, they missed the A final and finished seventh in the final score. In 2011 Dallinger returned to the four without a helmsman and finished eighth at the World Championships in Bled with Jade Uru , Benjamin Hammond and Christopher Harris .
