Richard Egington

Richard Phillip "Ric" Egington (born February 26, 1979 in Warrington ) is a British rower . He won two world titles and an Olympic silver medal by 2011.

Career

Egington won silver at the 2003 World Championships in the non-Olympic boat class four-man with helmsman . From 2005 he belonged to the British eighth , in 2007 he won his second world championship medal with bronze. In 2008 the eighth in the World Cup reached the podium three times with a first, second and third place each; at the Olympic Games in Beijing, the British eighth won the silver medal behind the Canadian boat.

In 2009 Egington switched to the four without a helmsman, who won two World Cup regattas and the final at the World Championships with three rowers from the 2008 eight. In 2010 the crew won two World Cup regattas and took third place in the third regatta, but the boat only came fourth in the World Championships. In 2011 the four-man again achieved two World Cup victories and won the world championship title in Bled.
