Constantine Louloudis

Constantine Michael Louloudis , MBE (born September 15, 1991 in London ) is a former British rower . Louloudis was world champion in 2014 with the British eighth .

Louloudis began rowing in 2007 at Eton College . At the Junior World Championships in 2009 he won the title in four-man without a helmsman . In 2010 he won silver with the four at the U23 World Championships . In 2011 Louloudis competed with George Nash in a double without a helmsman and won the U23 World Championships in this boat class. In 2012 Louloudis belonged to the British eighth who won the bronze medal at the Olympiaregatta in Eton .

After Louloudis had paused his studies because of the 2012 Olympic Games, he stopped playing international rowing in 2013. In 2014 he returned as the batsman of the British eight and won the gold medal at the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam. In 2015 Louloudis only moved back into eighth at the third World Cup regatta, and at the 2015 World Championships , the British eighth won the title as in previous years. At the 2016 European Championships , Alex Gregory , Mohamed Sbihi , George Nash and Constantine Louloudis, four rowers from the 2015 world championship eight , competed in a four-man without a helmsman and won the title. In the same line-up, the British four-man also won the 2016 Olympic Games .

Louloudis is the son of a Greek father and an English mother. After schooling at Eton, he transferred to Trinity College of Oxford University , where he classical studies. In 2011, 2013 and 2014 he sat in the victorious eighth of the Boat Race for Oxford .
