Urs Buyer (born November 17, 1984 in Neu-Ulm ) is a former German rower who was part of the A-squad of Team Germany-Eight . There he rowed in a foursome without a helmsman . Urs Buyer won medals at several world championships in the junior and U23 area and at German championships. In 2003 he was U23 world champion in a four-man team.

On August 26, 2006, he was runner-up in the senior class with the four-man without a helmsman. The year 2007 turned out to be much more difficult for the team of four. Due to illness, the team was only able to intervene much later in the competition season, but still qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing. At the 2009 World Rowing Championships , buyer won the title with the Germany eight, and in 2010 he was European champion in the four without a helmsman. At the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012 , he took sixth place in the four without a helmsman. In November 2015, the former member of the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr and a business psychologist trained at the Ruhr University Bochum ended his competitive sports career.
