Christoph Korte

Christoph Korte (born December 28, 1965 in Waltrop ) is a former German rower who was world champion with the eighth in 1990 .

Athletic career

The 1.87 m tall Christoph Korte from the Dortmund rowing club Hansa from 1898 took second place in the four-man team at the German championships in 1988 and 1989 . At the 1988 Summer Olympics , a four-man with helmsman Andreas Lütkefels , Christoph Korte, Wolfgang Klapheck , Roland Baar and helmsman Martin Ruppel competed and took seventh place. In 1989 Lütkefels, Korte and Klapheck competed with batsman Armin Eichholz and helmsman Guido Groß at the World Championships in Bled and achieved ninth place.

In 1990, Korte, together with Frank Dietrich and helmsman Manfred Klein, took second place at the German championships in two with helmsman . Because of the good performance in the small boat, Korte moved up for the first time and Dietrich again in the Germany eight . After winning the German Championships, the Germany eight won the World Championships in Tasmania in front of the boats from Canada and the GDR.
