Malte Jakschik (born August 3, 1993 in Bonn ) is a German rower .

The 1.94 m tall Jakschik began rowing in 2005 and started for the Rauxel rowing club . In 2010 he won the silver medal with the eighth at the Junior World Championships , followed by the title in the four without a helmsman at the 2011 Junior World Championships . In 2013 Jakschik won his first international medal in the adult class when he won bronze at the European Championships with the uncontrolled foursome . In 2014 he switched to Germany eighth , with which he rowed gold at the European Championships and silver behind the British eighth at the World Championships . Jakschik also started in eighth in 2015 , at the European Championships in 2015 the German eighth won ahead of the British. At the 2015 World Championships, as in the previous two years, the British won ahead of the Germans. At the start of the 2016 Olympic season, the Germany eighth managed a victory at the European Championships , in front of a home crowd in Brandenburg an der Havel, the German boat won ahead of the Russians and the British. Malte Jakschik and the team of eight were awarded the silver laurel leaf by Federal President Gauck on November 1, 2016 for their Olympic medal .
