Andrei Alexandrowitsch Wassiljew ( Russian Андрей Александрович Васильев ; born June 27, 1962 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a former Soviet- Russian rower and silver medalist at the 1988 Summer Olympics.

Career

Vasiljew, rowing for Dynamo Leningrad , competed in the 1988 Olympic Games with the Soviet eighth and won the silver medal behind the West German eighth.

He won a gold medal when he first participated in the World Championships in 1985, followed by a silver medal at the 1987 World Championships .
