Peter Nordell

Peter Nordell (born August 30, 1966 in DuPage County ) is a former rower from the United States who was world champion with the eighth in 1987 .

Career

In 1987, the US eight started at the World Championships in Nottingham with the cast Michael Teti , Jon Smith , Ted Patton , Michael Still , Peter Nordell, Jeffrey McLaughlin , Douglas Burden , John Pescatore and helmsman Seth Bauer . The US eight won the final three seconds ahead of the boat from the GDR, behind which the Italians received bronze. The boat from the Federal Republic of Germany took sixth place. In the following year, the Germany eight won the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul with almost two seconds ahead of the boat from the Soviet Union. The US eight won the bronze medal, 25 hundredths of a second behind the boat from the USSR, with only John Rusher joining Michael Still compared to the previous year .

The 1.98 m tall Nordell graduated from Yale University in 1988 and then attended the Kellogg School of Management . From 1993 to 2005 he worked in technology companies. In 2005 he co-founded NextSlide Imaging, a software company for medical devices.
