Felix Wimberger (born February 28, 1990 in Vilshofen an der Donau ) is a German rower .

The 1.90 m tall Wimberger started rowing in 2000 and started for the Passau rowing club from 1874 . In 2008 he won eighth at the Junior World Championships . At the U23 World Championships he finished first in 2010 and second in 2012 with eighth place. In 2013 he rowed together with Toni Seifert , Malte Jakschik and Max Planer in a four-man without a helmsman and won the bronze medal at the European Championships , and at the 2013 World Championships , the four-man finished twelfth. In 2014 Wimberger competed with the Germany eighth and won gold at the European championships and silver behind the British eighth at the world championships . In 2015 Wimberger could not qualify for the eighth place, the newly formed four-man without a helmsman with Johannes Weißenfeld , Alexander Egler , Max Planer and Felix Wimberger took sixth place at the European championships . With Maximilian Korge for Egler, the four-man qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games with a fifth place at the 2015 World Championships . At the start of the 2016 Olympic season, the four-man finished seventh at the European Championships in front of a home crowd in Brandenburg an der Havel. At the 2016 Olympic Games , Maximilian Korge, Max Planer, Anton Braun and Felix Wimberger finished 12th in the four without a helmsman.

In 2017 Wimberger and Planer returned to the Germany eight. At the European Championships in May 2017, the newly composed Germany eight won the gold medal. He later set a new world record at the second World Cup and finally won the gold medal at the World Championships in Florida ahead of the United States and Italy. In 2018, the Germany eight won all three regattas in the World Cup with the same line-up as in 2017. At the European Championships in Glasgow , the eighth won ahead of the Dutch and the Romanians. A month and a half later, the eighth also won the title at the World Championships in Plovdiv, ahead of the Australians and the British. At the 2019 European Championships , Wimberger competed with Felix Brummel , Max Planer and Nico Merget in a four without a helmsman and won the bronze medal behind the British and the Poles.
