Maximilian "Max" Planer (born January 28, 1991 in Bernburg (Saale) ) is a German rower .

The 1.95 m tall Max Planer started rowing in 2001 and started for the Bernburg rowing club . In 2008 he won eighth at the Junior World Championships , at the Junior World Championships in 2009 he won the double sculls . At the U23 World Championships , he finished fourth in 2011 and second in 2012 with eighth. In 2013 he rowed together with Toni Seifert , Malte Jakschik and Felix Wimberger in a four-man without a helmsman and won the bronze medal at the European Championships , at the 2013 World Championships the four-man finished twelfth. In 2014, Planer competed with the Germany eighth and won gold at the European Championships and silver behind the British eighth at the World Championships . In 2017 Wimberger and Planer returned to the Germany eight. At the European Championships 2017 in May 2017, the newly composed Germany eight won the gold medal. After victories at the World Cup in Poznan and Lucerne, the eighth won the title at the World Championships in Sarasota at the end of the season . In 2018, the Germany eight won all three regattas in the World Cup with the same line-up as in 2017. At the European Championships in Glasgow , the eighth won ahead of the Dutch and the Romanians.
