Dieter Sator

Dieter Sator (born January 18, 1968 ) is a former German rower who was world champion with the eighth in 1995 .

Athletic career

Dieter Sator from the Würzburg RG Bayern took third place in the four-man team at the 1986 Junior World Championships . From 1987 to 1989 Sator appeared three times in a four-man without a helmsman at the U23 World Championships and took second, fourth and first place.

At the German Championships in 1994, Andreas Lütkefels , Dieter Sator, Jürgen Hecht , Stefan Scholz , Frank Richter , Colin von Ettingshausen , Martin Steffes-Mies , Roland Baar and helmsman Peter Thiede won the eighth place . In the same line-up, the eighth missed a medal at the World Championships in Indianapolis in fourth, it was the first big final since 1987 without a medal for the Germany eighth .

At the German Championships in 1995, Ingmar Guhl , Colin von Ettingshausen, Matthias Ungemach , Mark Kleinschmidt , Frank Richter, Ike Landvoigt , Jochen Lerche , Dieter Sator and helmsman Guido Groß won the eighth . For the world championships in Tampere the boat was put together from the two first-placed boats of the German championships. Detlef Kirchhoff , Stefan Forster , Marc Weber , Roland Baar and helmsman Peter Thiede moved out of the second-placed boat to join Frank Richter, Ike Landvoigt, Dieter Sator and Jochen Lerche from the master boat. The result in Tampere was the world title for the Germany eighth.
